How we rate the games?
Of Orcs And Men is a game played in third person as an orc or as his little friend goblin. The game is all about war where people attack orcs and try to kill them. The idea of the game is to defeat the humans and finally win the war. You cannot do that alone, so you will need an agile friend who can cast magic or become invisible to assassinate enemies. The orc and goblin will never separate from each other, since the mission would be impossible to win. You can change your character by pressing CTRL so you will have better chances to win using both characters simultaneously.
One thing to note about this games, is that it is violent and if you don't like blood, it will be better not to play it. I would suggest this game to people who like some little strategy and are somewhat patient, since the game mechanics are not very fluent. If you try to kill your enemies, they will all attack you, while you can just attack one each time and the attack is always automatic, meaning you cannot attack where you exactly want so the sword could catch more than one player. There is even a worse thing, when you have very low health. You are warped into raged mode, attacking everyone, even your friends, but not yourself because that would be really stupid. You cannot control anymore yourself, but you earn much more attack speed and strength, becoming very strong.
This is notable since the beginning, because you start your game attacking another orc which is stronger than you might think of. Even though he is stronger, warping into raged mode, makes you much more powerful defeating your enemy. Than you start attacking humans, which might be a dull thing to do, since the player is a human himself. Anyway, I would suggest just playing the game, if you already have it, but I personally didn't enjoy it.
The optimization was not so good, especially when attacking, because you could only attack one enemy, than after he is dead, you can attack another and so on. This might get really boring if you want to see some action. What I liked was the level up and adding attributes to your players. You can add more strength, life, power, attack speed, intelligence for magic and more. Compared to some other games though, this level up is very plagued by little attributes, so don't think you will have a very big costumization, especially when compared to Dragon Age, which had far more things to gather and level up. Even the enemies where much more detailed, leaving this game a plague.
The graphics had somewhat a problem, not that I want to low down its goodies, but it looked like a PS2 graphics with high-resolution textures, so it was the textures which played an important role and not the graphics programming. When playing the game, you might think of a lot of stuff, like powering yourself up, your weapons or your little goblin. That is all I can add, but overall the game is not good, since there are much more games with better gameplay.
