How we rate the games?
Divinity 2 Ego Dragonis is a third person shooting game. The game originates from 2009 and I wanted to review this game since at that time my PC was not good enough to play the game. Now it ran perfectly, but in the welcome screen there was a big FPS drop. We will talk about magic, items, friends and foes in this game, even though it had some bad animations which felt like you were playing an old game.
There was a lot of stuff happening in this game. Magic, fights, buying and selling, completing quests, story and much more. I was happy that this game was very large and had a tremendous amount of detail when it comes to items, magic and fights. Enemies are numerous and it feels like a lot of work being done by the developers themselves. Even though the game is a bit old, it is still worth of considering. The player can level up, buy or sell items, gain new magic and powers, using swords, weapons and all other sorts of equipment.
I was not impressed by the graphics, only but lightning. There was no big deal even at highest settings possible so you won't be enjoying the game a lot when it comes to graphics. Even animation and character editing were not really detailed. I didn't like a lot of stuff, especially animation because the character moved like in squares when attacking and running. The controls where alright, everything was working as it should, so I don't think anything to really enjoy.
I liked the gameplay because it was very detailed and enjoyable. It is the best thing this game aim's at. At first you show in a place where it is just like a tutorial part of the game. You could talk to everyone you meet, so there is a lot to read. Even the story was very interesting, but had its bad parts too, like the main character trying to catch the flying dragon, which was somewhat ridiculous. The ambient was quite good and interesting, especially places with water, like the fountain. Magic was a very interesting part of the gameplay too, since not all games have to do with it. I felt like playing Dragon Age Origins in a way or another, but this one had something else in its cards. There is a lot more to explore, level up, find new enemies, power up, discover places, abilities, unlock paths and I liked the idea of asking you to meet other people before progressing on, like meeting Morgana. Sometimes you will need to read what the players say, otherwise you won't know where to go. The beauty of it, is that you can still talk to the players and they will tell you the same thing again. It reminds me somewhat of Fable I and Witcher and it is more like a combination of both. There is a lot to find out, but I will leave the pleasure to the gamers!
Optimization was very good, except situations like the title screen, opening the map which needs some seconds to load and some very little stuff which doesn't hurt the game at all. Doing all this game with such good is very rare. Movements, artificial intelligence implemented on enemies and controls are all stuff which clearly prove that this game got all there is to it. I really like this game and it would have been an instant hit if it had better visuals and more advanced graphics options. Even Dragon Age wasn't a big deal with graphics, but I think the textures and other stuff really hurt this game. On its counter-part Dragon Age Origins had amazing textures.
Sound was very good and I still remember the music when the game started. All I can say is that it feels legendary and makes you wanna play this game. When attacking enemies, it also happened at the right time with original voices by the player, enemy and the sound of weapons was like real life.
Overall, Ego Draconis is a must play game because of its detailed gameplay. You will understand more if you have actually played the game, but I would strongly suggest to play this game. I wish you all the best!
