How we rate the games?
Dishonored is stealth assassination game, first person shooter. It seems that it's developers tried to combine bioshock with assassin's creed into one game and looks like it worked great. The game is very good, graphics, effects, enemies, weapons and much more. Even though I don't like some scenes where you have to kill people to defend your honor, too much blood.
Even though, the game is very good, I liked it in overall. You can kill your enemies instantly without getting discovered. There was nothing more to add, with some exceptions. Trying to defend your honor adds a lot of drama to the game, rather than trying to kill other people without any reason just like other games. I totally recommend this game, it is really worth it. You even get the buying and selling option.
The game has a lot of special effects and even magic. Some of the surroundings though might seem not pleasant, but others are great, especially inside royal buildings. The interesting thing about the game, is all of getting the honor you lost, since the first stage of the game. The game really deserves attention.
The game has some secrets and paths which you might not think of. You can use the subways, windows, terrace or whatever comes to your mind to infiltrate the enemies 'base'. The game itself has a lot of interesting moments, like going to a party, watching your friends betray you, watching the people you love getting killed, but sometimes these things might really hurt you in a way or another, so you might just skip them.
When talking about skills, there are a lot of them. You might watch a very simple window with some upgrades, but you will have to upgrade the same item a lot of times, before you fully benefit from it. I personally like the teleportation and the agility upgrades. First of all, if you unlock agility to the maximum, you get double jump, which combined to the teleportation, can give you very good paths and you can hide from the enemies easier than usually. You have a lot of others, like slowing time or even stopping it, but this one will cost you a lot of upgrade points which are known as runes. There are bone charms which will help you unlock other abilities, making you even more powerful and passing each level easier. You can use the dark eye, to watch your enemies past the walls, doors, or even up the floor or down.
Stealth is the most important thing in the game and maybe the funniest you will experience. When finishing a level, if you get unnoticed at all you will get a ghost bonus which normally means that you where there, but none noticed you at all like a real ghost! You get another bonus if you don't kill a single character during the game. These bonuses might be difficult, but the real problem is just finishing levels, not concentrating of getting the bonuses. If you get more runes or bone charms, you will have it much easier to earn these bonuses, so don't try to get them without first completing the game, because it will be difficult. Looking through the doors holes, is a unique feature this game has and you will normally have to use it, so you can get to your objective being unnoticed.
The game itself has a lot of weapons and you even unlock some during your journey, like a better pistol, poisoned darts and more. Even though you might use them, I personally enjoyed the game without using weapons, only the sword which can be taken since the first level. Generally speaking, sneaking is the true weapon you have. The bonus of ghost mode, means that you didn't use any weapon at all, so it is quite normal not to use them.
Choosing different paths in the game, can affect greatly the resulting scheme of the story. You might kill people, or not, but since the name itself 'Dishonored' clearly states that you lost your honor, killing other people will just mean, loosing even more! Don't think of the game as a way to treat people by killing them, but it really shows who you are in real life and what would you do if you really had powers at hand.
