How we rate the games?
Cube World is a combination of Minecraft and Skyrim. First of all, it seemed like a kid game and the players seemed so childish, with no graphics at all, just cubes. While playing the game for like 2 hours I realized it was truly a Skyrim reincarnated into Minecraft. There are so many possibilities in this game and you even choose your upgrade path just like Skyrim! You have a very large world (for me it was actually tremendously large) where you would need months to actually see the whole map and it was randomly generated because the possibilities are infinite. If in Skyrim you could get a horse, here you get all kinds of pets (even a horse) and upgrade to using vehicles, like the little boat, the hand glider and riding the pets (you can't ride any without upgrading first)
The gameplay was magnificent, it felt just like in real life, where the possibilities are infinite and the more you play the more the game gets interesting. What is even more interesting, is that the game is actually in Alpha, meaning that the developers have not launched the final version of the game and we would expect a lot of stuff in the final one. With just the alpha though, the one I have played in the video gameplay, it is an amazing work. Talking just about weapons, there are so many choices. Depending on the race of your player and its type, you can do magic, fire crossbows, use swords or daggers and even more. Each weapon has its own level and you can adapt the weapons by using silver money in an adaption shop. The rarer a weapon is, the more it will cost to adapt. You can also buy weapons from the weapon shop. You can kill enemies to get weapons from them, so you won't be wasting your money, but that doesn't always happen and you will need to find a weapon for your race and power level. Each time you level up, you can use better equipment. Better equipment need more power and cost more in the shop.
Even enemies have their own level and depending on how tough they are, they will have their name with a specific color. The toughest enemies usually have their name labeled with purple color which is quite rare and usually are only bosses. This reminds me of Borderlands where the enemies had their names labeled with colors, or even weapons. The rarer is a weapon, the more purple its name will be colored. Adaption is a wise way to go for triply stars weapons. There are even yellow enemies, which are very very tough and you will get killed instantly if you are a low level.
The more your level is, the more hitpoints you will have. Apart from that, your player will also have its damage, health, power, attack speed and much more. Unfortunately, those names in the game are not intuitive so I had to do an english to english translation. This is not a big deal though since you will become familiarized in no time. The more powerful your armor and wielded items are, the more powerful your player will be. Even though this is quite obvious, it is a very good addition to a cube game. Simply put, this game was amazing and its developers really deserve every piece of paper.
Depending on what you like to do, you will have a small boat to travel over seas into the game. The more your skill about the bout is upgraded, the faster your will travel. I enjoyed every bit of it, but when it comes to gliding, it was absolutely amazing, especially the time you will need to travel from one place to another. The more you will upgrade a skill, the next upgrade won't have the same impact as the last one. Balancing the upgrades is a good idea, because it will become tougher to upgrade your player the next level, because it will require more points. The game is created using procedural geometry, so every time you start a new game, you will see everything has changed. Talking about gliding, maybe that was the best experience, but it really depends on what you like to do in real life too.
