How we rate the games?
If you like engineering and want to test your architectural skills while simulating the results, Bridge Project is the game to go. The idea is quite old and I clearly remember playing this kind of game in my old Pentium II computer, but it was really fun even without the graphics. Let's see now what makes this game so special.
When playing the game you are given the possibility to choose from four different areas where you have to build bridges. Depending on what you choose, you will have a different bridge to build and I guess the fourth is the most difficult, but they vary a lot from each other. You can than add more into play, by unlocking the next level of each area. The more levels you unlock, the more difficult the game becomes, but you will learn in real time how to build bridges. Don't forget that you will need a lot of time to make it work and it won't be easy. Sometimes you might feel like it becomes really repetitive, so it would be better to leave the game for some time and getting back again.
The graphics are very impressive compared to all other versions released before. Even though the graphics are good, the game itself doesn't need any logical or better optimizations to its mechanics at all, since it works perfectly and has been tested a lot of times for years and years. You won't find any big differences from the last version released, so if you have played it before, you better not try this one. After playing for a long times games like this, there is no real need for great graphics in this kind of game since it is still very enjoyable basing on its idea. I am amazed at how this game survived over the years and it seems it really had a good reputation to the public.
Optimization is its best point, but I don't want to value it too much. Even though it is a very interesting and difficult idea to implement, a lot of years have passed to test its bugs, problems, errors and stuff like that making it nearly perfect. Making this kind of optimizations for so many years, is indeed making it just like in real life, but the time spent doesn't sound really interesting at all. I wouldn't dare to create a game that took so much time to remake and for so many years which leaves to a big question as why its developers are remaking it. There is really no need to recreate this game.
The idea is very original and unique. I remember playing the game and struggling to create the bridge to the other side so the train could pass, but that was about one vehicle, now they have added other vehicles. This is very good and the level of difficulty is somewhat far better established since there was just a train with somewhat fake physics. I really love this game though and to those who say that this is not a good game, well I don't know what to say, since they could not seen a bridge in their whole life.
There is not much to talk about sound effects, but the crash of the vehicles was somewhat irritating.
Overall the game was very good and fun and you can learn one thing or two how bridges work, becoming a real engineer. Don't forget that this game is a simulation of real-life physics which is a very nice and difficult idea to implement. It is over you to think and rate this game, but I would be interested on your own ideas, so please share and comment below!
