Fable Anniversary coming to PC
Finally, the company behind Xbox One did a good thing after so many bad ones. This is not a good thing though, this is more like Xbox One didn't sell so well, so we are going to show off how we make others happy by bringing Fable Anniversary to the PC. To a total disappointment, the game still runs on DirectX 9, which means the exact same graphics engine, but with better textures and a nice HD compatibility. This is clearly a beg for money since Xbox One didn't sell well and nobody would buy a 400$ (without kinect) just to play a better looking Fable 1. On top of all this, it doesn't come as a surprise, since we got used to those tactics, like making GTA V on the console and then after a year or two to the PC with even better graphics, so that the developers use it as an excuse.
It is a tactic to gather even more money out of the gamers pocket, but Fable Anniversary was a sure call. Not even a single game out there would make PC gamers switch to consoles, so they just wait and they will also have better graphics, since day one of PS4 and Xbox One. What truly hurt here was the price, because the original version costs only 9 euros (in europe) and the anniversary version costs 32 euros (but you get a -20% discount if you buy right now). With the discount, plus being a big fun of Fable 1, this truly doesn't make me want to buy the game right now. It is just silly for the price they are asking, since it is just a better looking game, with the exact same things the old one had.
What preocupies me the most, is that Fable series just kept being worse and worse over the years and this might look better, but might have something that makes it feel like it is far worse than the original game. Anyway, it might have been a huge hit in September 2004, but for now we have so many other games like Skyrim which completely evaporates the will to buy the game. Also the indie games have somewhat showed off that those consoles are a true waste of money, since indie games are usually not platform specific, or if they are, it's the PC they choose.
This is not the first time that those game companies are making things so hard and one big question: Why Fable was never released for the PS3 or PS4? Even though they would want to, nobody asked for it in the first place. All people asked was the PC and that is the most popular gaming platform for the moment.
