Top 5 reasons why you should not buy ported games
A lot of upcoming titles are trying to make their way into the PC market. The real problem starts when the gamers buy ported games which are not what they thought about. Bad graphics, slow engine, weird controls and much more, will make you feel really bad for your choice.
1. Slow Motion
One of the most boring things I have been through with ported games, was that it comes a time when they slow like hell. There is no real fix or patch for that so you are going to find out alone what is happening and why your card is not supported. Since consoles don't have a great number of card choice (there is no choice at all I guess), you will need to configure and find out which file is causing the problem. I wouldn't want to be in your pants since it takes a great deal of graphics programming and cracking the game.
Unfortunately, even if you have the best card on the planet, your card will only work as an emulator, not as a supportive feature for the game. What I mean is that if the game would be for PC, there will be a lot of options and it will run really flawlessly, but if you try to play a ported game, it will surely give out some of its FPS only because it is like being emulated, or in a better word translated. The game will definitively run slower.
3. Price is the same
Even if we are talking about a ported game, the price wont get lower and this is really funny because none will tell you about the above problems. At least you will earn some experience with this type of games. You might be thinking to switch to consoles if you really like the game, but that is your own choice and that would be ridiculous because you would have to pay a lot of money afterwards.
4. Ported game works only for PC
All ported games work for PC even if they have been originally made for a console. What I mean is that if you put your PC CD inside the console, it will definitively wont work and that is somewhat boring since you are actually buying a console game ported to PC.
5. No Patch
If you think your problems have finished, you are totally wrong. This is maybe the most offending feature for a gamer, a bad game without any updates to remove slow motion or other bad features mentioned above. From a survey, 90% of gamers hate bad ported games and will never buy one again from the same gaming company. 10% clearly expressed their irritation about the game and told others they were scammed.
In the hopes you won't be making a bad choice, we hope this helped you out and clarified some of the most problematic areas of PC gaming. It is true though that a lot of companies don't make any updates to the PC game afterwards.Discuss more on the forums
